North Yorkshire is a popular holiday destination for thousands of people each year.
For many equine enthusiasts, their horse is an important part of their family and they therefore like to include their four legged friend in their holiday plans.
At our centre in harrogate we can offer luxury bed and breakfast rooms, or bring your own tent or caravan/wagon with hook up if you fancy enjoying the outdoor experience.
Included in the price is:
Luxury B&B rooms
Maddie's Well - Includes two twin beds, with shabby chic furnishings, bathroom with large bath; and beautiful views overlooking the farm.
The stables - Includes a beautiful Queen size bed 4 poster mahogany bed with orthopaedic adjustable mattress, en-suite bathroom with free standing bath; and beautiful views overlooking the paddock and stables. Also includes a double sofa bed.
The dairy - Includes a Super King size bed sleigh bed, furnished with fabulous oak furniture; and beautiful views overlooking the yard and outdoor arena/stables. En-suite shower room provided.
The paddock - Includes a King size bed 4 poster bed, with romantic furnishings and design. Separate private bathroom with bath or a shared showerroom (shared only if the The Dairy is booked).
Meals
Breakfast provided per person in the B&B, and there are a number of local dining options in the area (taxis can be arranged). With prior notice, dinner can be arranged in the B&B for £18pp for main course and dessert.
Luxury Stabling
All our horses are stabled in spacious, traditional wooden stables, which look out across our post and railed paddocks.
All stables are 12 x 12 feet, with a rubber matting floor for extra comfort.
Stabling is on a DIY livery basis - owner to muck out, hay up with our provided hay or haylage, and feed with owner provided feed or feed provided by us - we can provide basic pony/horse nuts, chaff, fibre beet included in the price. Horses are to be stabled at night.
Quality Grazing Fields
Horses at Farm View Hall benefit from ample, all year round grazing.
The fields are secured by post and rail fencing or traditional stone walls.
Visiting horses will be turned out separately and on rotation from liveries.
All the fields have automatic drinkers, providing fresh water.
And for extra assurance, all the fields can be seen from the B&B.
Horses
All horses must be fully vaccinated and insured for third party liability.
Indoor Arena
The livery yard boasts a competition sized indoor riding school, covered in a rubber surface and waxed sand.
The arena is lit up with extensive lighting and there are multiple training mirrors to aid in riding and tuition, which are maintained daily to an impeccably high standard.
Indoor Viewing Area and Tea Room
The indoor arena has an adjacent, heated viewing area, which lends itself perfectly to watching from during the cold winter months.
Complete with comfortable seating, tea and coffee making facilities and a vending machine, this area provides the perfect retreat where you can relax out of the elements outside with friends, family and our other clients.
Outdoor Arena
Our competition sized outdoor arena is the perfect complement to the indoor facilities.
Suitable for all weathers, this sand floodlit arena is excellent for lunging, warming up or as a stand alone training facility.
With secure post and rail fencing round the outside and excellent drainage across the arena, this facility is invaluable. The surface has been selected for its exceptional properties, which offer maximum safety to riders and maximum comfort to horses.
Horse Walker
Our covered Monarch horse walker provides a year round exercise facility for up to five horses at a time.
Regardless of the weather, with its roof and rubber flooring, it is an ideal and useful way of exercising horses, especially those confined to light exercise and those coming back into work.
Its position adjacent to the indoor arena means horses can loosen up prior to ridden exercise, or cool down after.
Jumping Facilities
For our jumpers, the livery yard has both cross country and show jumping facilities.
When available, our cross country course has 21 purpose built wooden cross country jumps for a range of abilities, ranging from 1’6 to 3’6. It is a popular facility and we are constantly improving it.
We also have a variety of show jumps available for our clients use.
Off Road Hacking and Bridleways
From the yard you have the benefit of immediate access to miles of quiet country lanes.
There is an extensive choice of bridleways taking you across a massive area of natural and unspoilt North Yorkshire beauty just waiting to be explored.
Tuition and accompanied riding/maps
We are a licensed, insured riding school and can teach children from 3 years of age. Quality tuition provided on well schooled horses/ponies including flat work and show jumping. We can arrange lessons with our fabulous BHS II Lucinda Kidson and provide accompanied riding on our horses or for guests bringing their own horse; and/or can provide maps and directions for guest bringing their own horses.
Lorry and Trailer Parking
We have ample secure wagon and trailer parking for all our clients on site.
This is included in all our livery packages.
Guests staying in horse boxes
Includes electrical hook up if needed - £95 per night including DIY livery .
Security
The B&B is situated adjacent to the equestrian facilities.
For complete peace of mind, a member of the team is on site 24 hours a day.
Straw and Hay
We understand that consistently high quality bedding and hay is essential for the wellbeing of your horse.
In order to provide the very best, the Cockburn family grow and produce the finest hay and straw on the neighbouring farm for use on the livery yard.
Pets
We have lovely cats, dogs, chickens and ducks living at Farm View Hall, we can also accommodate dogs as long as they are well behaved and house trained!
