Discover the beautiful Sefton Coastline on horseback... 'Formby Equestrian' is a small, high end livery yard offering a secure, peaceful, spacious setting for relaxation and enjoyment of both horse and rider.
Situated less than a mile hack away from the extensive Cheshire lines bridle path and not 2 miles away from the Pinewoods and famous Formby Point beach, hacking opportunities are ample and interesting. The Equestrian centre offers brick built stables with storage areas and a floodlit indoor menage, allowing evening riding. All tools, bedding and buckets are provided to enable your horses to 'travel light'.
The recently converted guest accommodation is a one bedroom (with en-suite) cottage with kitchenette (including fridge,and microwave). The comfortable south facing lounge area takes in views of your horse’s stables, paddocks and fields. BBQ facilities are available with outside seating. All bedlinen and towels are provided, and a continental breakfast is left in the fridge each day ready for the following morning. Evening meals can be requested and arranged at a time of your choosing. The menu is small, but delicious.
In the heart of Sefton, Formby village is on our doorstep boasting restaurants, coffee shops and bars, as well as the red squirrel reserve, natterjack toads, sand dunes and endless sandy beaches, cycle paths and hacking.
Transport can be arranged to the train station, should you wish to explore the cultural Liverpool City centre, Anthony Gormley's iron men or Southport Pleasure Beach. All are just a short train ride away.
Should you wish to have a break from the saddle, a full livery service is available on request, and is provided by a qualified, experienced member of staff.
The Stud is adjacent to an established show centre which holds regular Dressage, BSPS, BSJA and riding club competitions should you plan to base your stay around a show date. It is also in close proximity to the Formby Hall Golf resort and Spa.
Formby Equestrian is a friendly outfit, welcoming adults, children, horses and well behaved dogs. We have our own ponies, dogs, sheep and a number of very happy chickens - plenty to occupy the children.
