Ride through the stunning Newborough Forest and enjoy beach riding along Llanddwyn Beach. Mike prefers Friday to Sunday bookings but depending on your dates and his work schedule this can be flexible. You have a choice of accommodation, a self contained one bedroom apartment with self catering kitchen or a 6 person static caravan, both options are right next door to the stables boasting stunning views of Snowdon. Taldrwst bed and breakfast is less than 1 mile away and they have 6 bedrooms available for guests.
Your horse will be staying on Mike's livery yard which is a 10 minute drive from the village of Newborough. There is an all weather outdoor arena on site which you can make use of.
Your host mike will help you to get your horses loaded as well as his own and you will follow him on the short drive down to Newborough Forest. There are many different tracks winding through the Forest, some of which have jumps consisting of fallen trees and logs. Once through the pine trees you reach Llanddwyn and Malltraeth Beach. The beach stretches from Abermenai Point on the Menai Strait in the south to Llanddwyn Island in the north. The miles of golden sand gives plenty of opportunities for a good canter and gallop, you can even wade out into the surf and explore the sandy paths of the dunes. The backdrop of a snow capped Snowdon adds to the perfection of this picturesque watercolour setting.
There's a choice of local pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance of your accommodation. The Marram Grass Cafe is just a few minutes drive away and has been voted the best restaurant in Anglesey! Particular favourites include the Menai Mussels, served with a chunky cob of crusty bread, the Fresh Haddock in Homemade Beer Batter, served with Home-cut Chips and Homemade Mushy Peas, whilst the selection of Homemade Cakes and freshly Ground Coffee are often in demand.
