Day One
Arrive today and settle your horse in to his stable. If you have time you may like to enjoy a ride into the National Park taking in as much of the the beautiful Welsh scenery as the daylight will allow.
Then it is time to make your way to your chosen accommodation, unpack and settle in. Choose from either a local award winning Bed & Breakfast, or a country house hotel with pool and spa. If you chose to spend your break at the country house hotel then you may choose to enjoy a home grown meal! The owners of the hotel have a nearby family farm where they keep cattle, poultry and much more. Alternatively there is a great pub only minutes drive away with a tempting menu and a choise of local ales.
Day Two
After a hearty breakfast this morning you can make the short drive to the stables in just ten minutes.
Today you can choose to venture into the National Park on your own or have an escorted ride into the Black Mountains towering above Llangorse Lake. Reaching 1645 feet, once you get to the top there is the chance for some long canters, and you may even see some of our beautiful Welsh mountain ponies roaming the hilltop, as their ancestors have done for thousands of years. For lunch, you can descend either to the Farmer’s Arms Inn in the village of Cwmdu, which nestles in the valley between Tretower and Talgarth, or visit the New Inn in Bwlch, a village located in a col high above the Usk Valley. The bridleways running between the hills will then bring you back to the stables. Enjoy center based riding in Brecon Beacons.
